Recently, Sermatec’s 100MW/400MWh energy storage project in Europe was successfully connected to the grid and began commercial operation. Shortly after commissioning, the project successfully passed a series of rigorous grid compliance tests conducted by the local transmission system operator (TSO), officially obtaining its operational approval. From project initiation to grid connection, Sermatec once again demonstrated its efficient, compliant, and end-to-end project delivery capabilities, setting another benchmark for large-scale energy storage deployment in the European market.

Located in a region characterized by significant peak-to-valley electricity price spreads and rapid renewable energy development, the project addresses the growing demand for flexible grid resources. In response to local government policies encouraging energy storage deployment to enhance grid stability, Sermatec officially launched the project in the third quarter of 2025.
With a total capacity of 100MW/400MWh, the project is equipped with Sermatec's self-developed energy storage technologies, including 80 SERLATTICE Series 5MWh containerized energy storage systems and 10 sets of 10MW integrated PCS and step-up transformer stations. Designed for large-capacity charging and discharging with fast power response capabilities, the system will operate under optimized dispatch strategies to maximize project performance while delivering stable long-term returns for investors.
Throughout project execution, Sermatec leveraged its global supply chain coordination and engineering delivery expertise to achieve outstanding project efficiency. From equipment manufacturing and shipment to installation, commissioning, and grid connection, the company once again demonstrated the "Sermatec Speed" in delivering major overseas energy infrastructure projects. From a technical perspective, the project highlights Sermatec's strong capabilities in large-scale energy storage system integration. The modular system architecture significantly streamlined on-site installation and commissioning, reducing construction complexity and improving overall delivery efficiency. During the grid compliance testing phase, the energy storage system worked seamlessly with the local power grid, successfully completing all required technical verification procedures. Following several consecutive days of trial operation, the project passed all acceptance tests with excellent performance and officially entered commercial operation.

Beyond its role in grid regulation, the project delivers substantial operational, economic, and social value.
- Operational Benefits:Operating under a peak-shaving strategy of charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak demand periods, the project provides large-scale, high-quality electricity when the grid needs it most. This significantly alleviates regional grid pressure while enhancing overall grid stability, flexibility, and power quality.
- Economic Benefits:The project generates its primary revenue by participating in the electricity spot market through energy arbitrage between off-peak and peak electricity prices. It also secures stable additional income by providing ancillary services such as frequency regulation and reserve capacity. Furthermore, supported by local government incentive programs, the project benefits from a dual-revenue model combining market-based returns with policy support, strengthening its long-term investment value.
- Social Benefits:The project substantially improves the grid's ability to integrate intermittent renewable energy sources such as solar power, reducing renewable energy curtailment. By enhancing grid flexibility and balancing capability, it contributes to a more reliable and cost-effective electricity system, indirectly lowering overall electricity costs for society while accelerating the transition toward a greener, low-carbon energy structure.
As Sermatec's largest standalone energy storage project in Europe to date, the successful commissioning of this project further validates the company's comprehensive strengths in large-scale energy storage system integration, international project delivery, and grid compatibility.
