Recently, Sermatec successfully completed the delivery and installation of a commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage project in Austria. The project is expected to enter the grid connection and commissioning phase next month. This successful delivery marks a substantial breakthrough for Sermatec in the German-speaking markets of Europe and further demonstrates the growing competitiveness of China's intelligent energy solutions in the global market.

As one of the European Union’s leading manufacturing hubs, Austria is accelerating the decarbonization of its industrial sector. Under the Electricity Industry Act (ElWG), adopted in 2025, commercial and industrial end users are legally recognized as "active customers," granting them the right to generate, store, sell self-produced electricity, and operate energy storage systems. Sermatec’s solution directly addresses the three key priorities of local enterprises: reducing electricity costs, ensuring stable production, and increasing renewable energy utilization.
The project has a total capacity of approximately 1.6MWh and is equipped with six EASYCUBE SERIES 261kWh all-in-one energy storage cabinets, independently developed by Sermatec. The system integrates batteries, PCS, EMS, HMI, and UPS into a highly integrated platform. It supports parallel operation of up to 20 units in grid-connected mode and 12 units in off-grid mode. Combined with a Static Transfer Switch (STS), the system enables seamless transition between grid-connected and off-grid operation within 20 milliseconds, making it well suited for applications such as microgrids, demand charge management, and solar-plus-storage systems.
During installation, Sermatec's project team demonstrated its unwavering commitment to safety and long-term reliability, earning high recognition from the project owner. As the project site is located within a designated flood-prone area, the team chose not to adopt a conventional ground-level installation. Instead, a specially designed elevated reinforced concrete foundation was constructed to raise the energy storage cabinets above potential flood levels. The cabinets are securely mounted on reinforced concrete pedestals, ensuring structural stability while effectively protecting the equipment from floodwater intrusion. This design significantly enhances the resilience of the energy storage system against extreme weather events and minimizes the impact of natural disasters.

As competition in the global energy storage industry continues to intensify, Sermatec remains committed to a dual-driven strategy of technological innovation and localized market development. The successful delivery and installation of the Austrian project represent more than the deployment of energy storage equipment—it marks another milestone in integrating Sermatec's intelligent energy solutions into Europe's evolving energy management ecosystem.
Backed by reliable products, advanced technologies, and flexible business strategies, Chinese energy storage companies represented by Sermatec are becoming indispensable partners in supporting Europe's industrial decarbonization and accelerating the adoption of green electricity.
