Recently, BloombergNEF (BNEF), one of the world's most authoritative research institutions in the renewable energy sector, officially released its Q3 2026 Tier 1 Global Energy Storage Manufacturer List. Leveraging its strong technological capabilities, global operational expertise, and high-quality project execution, Sermatec has once again been recognized on this prestigious industry ranking.

Stricter Evaluation Criteria Reinforce Key Industry Benchmarks

The BNEF Tier 1 list is widely regarded as one of the most credible and influential rating systems in the global energy storage industry. Updated quarterly, it serves as a key reference for international financial institutions when assessing project financing and credit risk, directly influencing manufacturers' bankability and access to investment.

The evaluation adopts a comprehensive multi-dimensional assessment covering technological capability, financial strength, financing capacity, global operational competence, and project delivery performance.

Since 2025, BNEF has further tightened its evaluation criteria, placing greater emphasis on project scale, technology ownership and controllability, and localized service capabilities. The minimum project size requirement has been raised to 10MWh, and only projects procured by independent third-party customers are eligible for consideration, making the qualification standards more rigorous than ever.

In addition, both Sermatec's 100MW/400MWh energy storage project in Europe and the 50MW/200MWh independent energy storage project in Jiading, Shanghai, were successfully connected to the grid and entered commercial operation. These projects not only accelerate the deployment of large-scale energy storage worldwide but also help relieve regional grid pressure while establishing benchmark grid-side energy storage projects designed to support urban load centers.
