Sermatec’s Footprint on the Global Energy Storage Map: Lighting the Way for Europe’s Energy Transition
2025-12-05 00:00
As the world accelerates toward green transformation goals, energy storage has become a cornerstone of the energy revolution. Leveraging its leading technological capabilities and extensive project experience, Sermatec is composing a symphony of green energy solutions across Europe—from the shores of the Black Sea to the Bavarian Plateau—supporting grid stability and sustainable development in local power systems.
Bulgaria 100MW/400MWh Energy Storage Project
As Sermatec’s first single-site energy storage project in Europe with a capacity exceeding 400MWh, the Bulgaria standalone energy storage plant deploys 80 units of the Serlattice Series 5MWh containerized energy storage systems. The first batch of products has been successfully delivered and is now under active construction.
With an installed power capacity of 100MW and an energy capacity of 400MWh, the project participates in power market trading and provides ancillary services, generating stable revenues for grid operators while supporting Bulgaria’s target of achieving 30% renewable energy penetration by 2030.
Poland 40MW/80MWh Energy Storage Project
As one of the larger commercial standalone energy storage projects in Poland, this project plays a strong demonstration role in the country’s decarbonization process. It serves as a critical “stabilizer” for Poland’s rapidly expanding wind and solar capacity, effectively mitigating curtailment risks.
With an installed capacity of 40MW/80MWh, the project utilizes 16 units of the Serlattice Series 5MWh containerized energy storage systems. By participating in Poland’s day-ahead market, balancing market, and capacity market, the project enables multiple revenue streams and lays a solid technical foundation for building a future-ready, flexible energy system in Poland.
Bulgaria 10MW/31MWh Energy Storage Project
This project features an installed capacity of 10MW/31MWh and adopts 7 units of the Serlattice Series 5MWh containerized energy storage systems. All products have been delivered and are awaiting commissioning and installation.
Powered by an AI-driven power market forecasting and trading system, the project accurately captures peak–valley price spreads and opportunities in the ancillary services market in Bulgaria, maximizing energy value. In addition, the project meets the eligibility requirements for Bulgaria’s dedicated energy transition subsidies, demonstrating strong alignment with the country’s grid modernization strategy and benefiting from long-term policy support.
Germany 7.5MW/15MWh Energy Storage Project
The standalone energy storage project recently contracted by Sermatec in Germany highlights the company’s comprehensive strengths in system integration and battery management. With an installed capacity of 7.5MW/15MWh, the project plans to deploy three units of the Serlattice Series 5MWh liquid-cooled containerized energy storage systems.
Adhering to a multi-layer safety design philosophy—from cell level to system level—the solution fully complies with Germany’s stringent safety standards. This compact yet highly efficient configuration showcases Sermatec’s strong technological competitiveness.
North Macedonia 3.9MW/7.5MWh Behind-the-Meter Energy Storage Project
In an industrial park in North Macedonia, Sermatec provides high-energy-consuming manufacturers with a reliable solution to manage electricity price volatility and ensure production continuity.
The project has an installed capacity of 3.9MW/7.5MWh and consists of a hybrid configuration:
• 1 × 5MWh containerized energy storage system
• 9 × 215kWh C&I energy storage systems
• 6 × 372kWh C&I energy storage systems
Leveraging the fast-paced and highly granular characteristics of European power markets, the system performs more frequent and precise charge–discharge operations through energy shifting and electricity trading, enabling the capture of additional arbitrage opportunities during short-term price fluctuations.
From megawatt-scale grid-level hubs to finely tuned behind-the-meter solutions, Sermatec is deeply engaged in Europe’s energy transition through a diversified product portfolio and localized service capabilities. Behind every capacity figure lies a deep understanding of local energy ecosystems and precise technical adaptation.
Looking ahead, Sermatec will continue to develop more diverse and intelligent energy storage solutions, enabling clean energy to be integrated into power systems around the world in a more stable and efficient manner.
